Semi Anechoic Chamber |
|
|
A Semi Anechoic Chamber is constructed as a shielded room, with absorbing materials on all walls and ceiling, thus simulating an Open Area Test Site, without interference from environmental EM-field pollution.
Its main application is in EM emission testing according to Commercial and Military standards.
The floor is a full reflecting ground plane.

The Comtest Compact Full Anechoic Chamber Model 1710 is used to perform compliant radiated immunity tests in accordance to EMC-standards such as IEC / EN 61000-4-3.
Full compliance immunity test site for the frequency range of 30 to 1000 MHz. Also suited for future free space emission tests, pr EN 50147-3.
Total ferrite coverage on all planes, including full floor coverage.
The frequency range can be extended to >18 GHz, using partial mounting of additional pyramid polystyrene absorbers.
A flush mounted, fiber optic controlled, turntable can be installed in the floor.

Many companies are looking for a cost effective method to investigate the EMC behaviour of their new developed products. Rather then heavily investment for a Full Compliance test site or visiting an official EMC test house, the use of a pre-compliance chamber will help the engineers to speed up the development of new products. The Super Compact Chamber can be used for Radiated Immunity test evaluations at 2m distance. For products fitting into a square of 1.0m x 1.0m, these test are in compliance with the EN61000-4-3 standard. Pre-compliance emission testing can be executed in a very repeatable environment. |
